Academic Year Courses
Costs for AoPS Academy Academic Year Courses consist of the following:
- Annual registration fee: $45 for registrations before January 1, $25 for registrations on or after January 1. This fee is charged once per academic year per student. The fee is only paid once if a student enrolls in multiple courses.
- Curriculum fee: $50 per course. This fee covers books (including temporary access to online books, where applicable) and other resources that students receive as part of the instruction for each course. For courses that require textbooks, $25 of the curriculum fee will be refunded after enrollment if you notify the campus director that you already have all the required textbooks.
- Annual tuition: Each Academic Year Course is designed to meet once a week for 36 weeks, and the tuition is paid in three installments of $675 each. For the 2019-20 Academic Year, all AoPS Academy Pleasanton courses will run for 24 weeks, and only two installment payments will be charged, during Week 1 and Week 13. Students will be given online access to the course materials for weeks 25 through 36 after the class ends.
When enrolling before a course begins, the curriculum fee, the registration fee, and a $100 deposit are due upon enrollment. The deposit is credited towards the first tuition payment. If a student enrolls after Academic Year courses have started, the curriculum fee, registration fee, and the prorated trimester tuition are due upon enrollment. After the initial payment made at the time of enrollment, the remaining tuition installments described above will be automatically charged to the credit card on file without further authorization.
Drop and Refund:
If a student drops an Academic Year Course before the course starts, then we will issue a full refund of tuition and all associated fees. If the student drops an Academic Year Course before the third class after the student enrolls, then we will issue a full refund of the tuition for the course (but not the registration or curriculum fee).
A student may withdraw before the second trimester payment if they give notice by the 11th lesson of the class. There are no refunds of fees already paid upon such withdrawal, though there will not be a charge for the second or third trimester's tuition if the student withdraws before the 11th lesson of the class.
The tuition for each Summer Course covers the entire course and all associated materials. For enrollments that are more than two weeks before the start of a course, a $200 deposit is required at the time of enrollment, with the balance due two weeks before the course begins. For enrollments less than two weeks before the start of a course, or after the course begins, the full course fee is due at the time of enrollment. Drop and Refund:
If a student drops a Summer Course before the course starts, then we will issue a full refund for the course tuition (including the $200 deposit). No refund will be issued for students who withdraw after a Summer Course has started.
